Wedding season is underway in Chicago and I continue to have several engagement sessions with couples who I will be shooting their weddings later on in the year. I’ve often talked about how much I love engagement shoots on my blog. Besides the fact that we have the opportunity to get beautiful shots around Chicago with the flexibility that we’re not always afforded on wedding days, it gives me a chance to get to know a couple and a couple a chance to get to know me. In being a part of one of the most exciting and sacred days of a couple’s life, having a foundation of a relationship is extremely important to me and engagement sessions are an amazing way to build that.

I had such a great time getting to know Megan and Brian on their engagement session. In talking prior to the shoot, they wanted a mixture of an industrial setting and a more natural setting – two types of locations that Chicago has plenty of. We kicked the shoot off in the Fulton Market district and then went up to Lincoln Park to take advantage of some of the spring colors. Megan and Brian have such a fun and natural way about their relationship that made it a joy to capture. Can’t wait for their wedding this winter at Chicago’s Newberry Library!
