Over the last month I have had the opportunity to shoot some incredible weddings and work with some amazing couples. I can’t wait to share each of these wedding and engagement sessions with you here on the blog.
I’m excited to kick it off with Katie and Blake’s wedding at Cafe Brauer from last month. I was thrilled when Katie and Blake chose me as their wedding photographer. Not only do I love Chicago weddings and photographing at Cafe Brauer but they are such a quality, fun, and down-to-earth couple.
We began the day at Blake’s apartment where Katie and the bridesmaids were getting ready before we met in the heart of Chicago for some shots of Katie and Blake and the bridal party. Downtown Chicago provides such an amazing backdrop for wedding photographs. I love the how such a dramatic a setting is created by the large sky-scrapers, the steel bridges, and the Chicago river. We then left for the ceremony at Missio Dei church in Wicker Park where Katie’s grandfather performed the service.
Then it was off to Cafe Brauer for the reception. I had the privilege of photographing there earlier this summer and I was grateful to be back. Located in the heart of Lincoln Park and just steps from the entrance to the zoo, Cafe Brauer provides such a beautiful location for a reception. And Katie and Blake did an amazing job picking out the vendors for the wedding, including florist Kloeckner Preferred Flowers, and swing band, Alan Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra (www.gresikproductions.com).
It was such a beautiful day all around… thank you Katie and Blake for giving me the privilege of capturing it. Congrats to you both!
